We are here to provide you FREE adult basic education help! Classes are taught by licensed teachers and supported by trained volunteers who work with students to meet their educational goals. A student may start at any time throughout the year and classes are offered year-round during the day and evening. We provide help with Improving basic reading, writing and math skills; earn a high school diploma or GED; or learn and improve your English language.
Adult Basic Education classes are free to ABE eligible students who are:
• 17 or older
• Not currently enrolled in public K-12 school program
• Demonstrated need for ABE services to successfully participate in secondary education, postsecondary education, or career pathways

Classes are held in Perham at the ALC building. Currently, classes are offered at the following times:
Tuesday, 9am-12Noon & 1-6:30pm
Thursday, 9am-12Noon & 3:30-5:30pm

For adults who would like to brush up on their skills may attend an ABE class. Instruction is available for specific skills, such as reading, writing, and mathematics.
For adults for whom English is a Second Language may attend classes to improve their English.
For adult who do not have a high school diploma and are not enrolled in high school may attend classes to prepare for the GED test.
